Call for Sessions
The session proposal process opens 15 August and closes 2 October 2017.
LACSC and SSA welcome the submission of proposals from across the fields of geotechnical and earthquake engineering, earthquake science and seismology. Topics of interest may include, but are not limited to: recent major earthquakes; earthquake early warning systems; seismotectonics; paleoseismology; citizen seismology; urban earthquake hazards; physics of seismic sources; CTBT and nuclear monitoring issues; tsunamis; induced seismology; paleoseismology studies; geoacoustics; earthquake risk and advances in array seismology.
The Program Committee encourages all members of the seismological community to help make this joint meeting impactful by creating sessions related to the above topics or their own cutting-edge research, methodology, and technology developments. To see examples of sessions from last year’s SSA meeting, visit the 2017 meeting website at http://meetings.seismosoc.org/special-sessions.
The deadline for session proposals is 2 October 2017. Please submit all proposals online through the form here: https://goo.gl/forms/WVD8vx6hPQoJ6D9e2.
You will be asked to provide a session name, a 1-2 paragraph description of the session topic, and the name, affiliation and contact information of at least one convener, preferably two, for each session. Each convener must have agreed to participate at the meeting. Please do not extend invitations to authors before receiving approval for your session. The Program Committee will reach out to session proposal submitters to let them know if their session has been approved, and all approved sessions will be published on this website by 1 November 2017.
